My Approach
I am a therapist specializing in babies, children, and their families. I prioritize a holistic approach to the developing child in all my care. I have over 10 years of clinical and scientific experience dedicated to caring for babies from birth, always focusing on their integral development and with the family's involvement. After all, human beings are formed by the integration of multiple systems, and the family is the primary environment for living and development.
My clinical practice is evidence-based and not limited to infants at risk or with developmental disabilities . In today's world, where children are growing up in overstimulated environments, it is essential to empower caregivers and families to find the right balance of stimulation for healthy emotional, cognitive, motor, and social neurodevelopment. When we consider infants born at risk for neurodevelopmental problems, this approach and therapy become mandatory in their lives, from birth.
Overstimulation is harmful to every child's development!
Furthermore, babies and children are particularly susceptible to respiratory problems due to their developing anatomy. Respiratory problems that are considered minor in adults require specialized care in children, especially infants. Respiratory therapy keeps the child's airways clear of secretions, facilitating oxygenation and oral feeding, improving sleep and energy availability, and making medication more effective when necessary. In my clinical practice, all respiratory care considers the infant's/child's developmental stage and is performed with neuroprotective care in mind.
Acute and seasonal respiratory conditions, when not effectively treated, can become more serious clinical conditions requiring hospitalization!
RESPIRATORY CONDITIONS TREATED
Mild to moderate respiratory distress
Upper respiratory tract infection
Bronchiolitis
Pneumonia
MAIN NEURODEVELOPMENTAL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH OVERSTIMULATION IN INFANTS AND CHILDREN (Scientific evidence)
Childhood anxiety
Irritability
Sleep disorder/difficulty
Hyperactivity and impaired attention
Cognitive and memory deficits
Motor and language delays
Learning difficulties and delays
Problems of emotional and social regulation
Balanced environments, without excessive stimuli, and meaningful human interactions are essential.
Early assessment, especially in premature infants, allows for interventions that mitigate risks.
